Small characteristic restaurant of Riomaggiore

The Trattoria la Grotta is located in the main street of Riomaggiore, the village of the Cinque Terre National Park, a few steps from the marina and the railway station.
It was founded in 1920 by the refurbishment of a fourteenth-century cantinone with vaults of original bricks and an authentic rock wall at sight. The room is home to 30 indoor seats and 20 in the terrace.
The cook and owner Isa, originally from the place, has always brought forward the recipes that were sent to her by the father, the navigator.

The menu is the protagonist of the anchovy of Monterosso: salted, marinated, fried, breaded, stuffed, to the "Scabeccio", instead the basil, odorous herbs, olive oil and local fish become the protagonists of "Ciuppìn", Zimini and stuffed, giving rise to a Very fragrant and spontaneous cuisine.
