The exhibition wants to take you through a real journey among 50 photographs. Some of them come from a private collection and they have never been exhibited in Italy, some instead were printed by her and autographed on the back and they're the only original copies existing. Then interviews, videos, animations, musics, sounds, mappings, settings. A new approach to the complexity of an artist, a person, a woman. Vivian Maier was an impressive photographer, gifted with a great talent which allowed her to take pictures without even seeing them, as a result of long, accurate and passionate studies. She followed her passion for photography staying outside of the fashion photography clamour. A story of bad timing while she never missed the perfect moment, as we can see by her fabulous shots. A time which, thanks to many collectors, reconciled and wants to reconcile her with an often forgotten humanity .A story about the combination of photography and life, about the strenght and the mistery of a lonely woman who embraced the world through honesty and art essentiality, without neglecting deep questions about the nature of photographic art, about the free photographic gesture and about the attention to the reality of the unique and precious moment related to the shutterclick itself.
It will be like having access to her dangerous and controversial universe, through a closet hiding a secret passage, her secret, her freedom. A freedom so strong she would even challenge photography, her most secret possession. The outfitting has been cured by Roberto Carlone, photographer, musician and one of the founders of Banda Osiris, Caterina Cavallari and the Archivi della Resistenza di Fosdinovo (MS) association, in collaboration with the "Vivian Maier et le Champsaur" French association, collecting testaments about the relationship between Vivian Maier and her France. Meetings, projections, workshops, show and conferences will be held all over the exhibition period.
