Visit to Monte Castellana

Sunday, May 28, 2017 from 9.00 to 16.00 there will be an ascent to Monte Castellana, near Campiglia. In exceptional way, the Maritele Association of La Spezia gives us the possibility to climb to Monte Castellana, a place of high historical and scenic interest. The association on the side of the forts will accompany us in the interpretation of the fortifications century, while thanks to the circle break aloud readings there will be the possibility to evoke ' the vision of the world from the mountains of La Spezia ', famous book by François Trafford. The cost is €6 per person; here is the program of the event:
-9.00 am: Meeting point at La Spezia Stadium;
-09.30 am: Second meeting in Campiglia;
-10.15 am: Arrival at the fort of the Castellana and divided into two groups: the first group will visit the fortifications, while the second will follow the reading of the book of the writer Trafford;
-11.15 am: Exchange of the two groups;
-12.30 p.m.: End of the tour of the fort and lunch break in places to be defined;
-14.00:Tour of the Castellana anticlockwise. We take the military road with exit to the north side gate with a subsequent visit of the quarries of the Castellana, the mouth of the horses and Campiglia;
-16.00: Departure from Campiglia and return to the meeting point in La Spezia.
It will be a walk of about 7 km on roads and paths easy to go: an excellent opportunity to explore new places.
