The Lemon Festival in Monterosso

Inevitable event of the Lemon Festival in Monterosso in the Cinque Terre

Monterosso, the oldest and the largest of the Cinque Terre, hides in itself a real culture, that of the lemon, the fruit that inspired Eugenio Montale for the verses of his collection "Ossi di seppia"(cuttlefish bones) and the fruit that is the protagonist of the festival that will be held this year on May 20 in Monterosso and which draws all the years tourists from all over Italy.

This is the program of the event:

-At 9 am starts with the opening of the local market for the sale of lemons of Monterosso;

-At 11 am begins the path of the "10000 steps to the scent of Lemon" (Registration at Pro Loco di Monterosso, under the station);

-At 5pm Music with the marching band by Nicola Olivi;

-At 6.30 pm there will be two prizes: the one for the largest lemon and the most beautiful showcase;

-At 9 pm ends the day with music in the main square of Monterosso.
